This association was founded on September 14, 1959 as
a new party with the existing of 'TOOL COMMITTEE
OF JAPAN AUTO PARTS INDUSTRY ASSOCIATION being
the nucleus and organizing the manufacturers of automotive
machinery and tool. In the period of 1980's, which is
called an uncertain period, the industry needs an association
which could comprehend the social needs and could
cope with the socially important problems.Consequently
the former optional party was dissolved and the new association
named 'JAPAN AUTOMOTIVE MACHINERY AND TOOL
MANUFACTURERS ASSOCIATION' was founded on August
30, 1979 and became a corporate body more committed to
the public enterest.

The Purpose of this association is to maintain and impr-
ove the automobile function by improving the qu-
ality of automotive machinery and tools and to co-
ntribute to the public life and development of the
allied industries. The automotive machinery and
tools are all the machines and tools which are ne-
eded for assembly, maintenance, disassembly,and
abandonment of the automobiles including vehicles
for construction and agriculture.

repair and maintenance shops acrss thecountry and
are widly used to keep motor vehicles in better ru-
nnig conditions. Latese production of automotive
service equipment was valued at yen 100,000,000,000
a year. Of the total, yen 10,000,000,000 worth of
products were exported to overseas markets.
We take a special pride in the fact that japanese-
made automotive service equipment has met varied
requirements on a global basis.
